    Welcome to Falcons class 2017/2018.

    Welcome back after the February Half Term break!

    My name is Samantha Stenhoff (Sam) and I am Falcons Class teacher this year. Now that our pupils are settling back into their new routines i would like to welcome you to our newly updated class page. I will be updating this webpage regularly with pictures and information about our class activities, however if you would like to keep updated on that happens with Falcons on the go, we will be tweeting from the classroom.     Each of our pupils has their own individual webpages with all of their key information which will be updated at the beginning and end of each half term. Key information includes Annual Targets, IEPs, IBPs, PHPs, Communication Placemats, etc along with photographs and work.

    Welsh Week Homework will be given out on Monday 19th February 2018. Please check your child's home school book and homework diaries for more information.

    This term our topic is 'Tales and Rhymes'. (Spring 2018) 

      information can be found below

    Reading Books - books will be sent home on Wednesdays and are due back in the following Monday. Pupils will be given the choice of what stories they would like to read at home. This may be Oxford Reading tree or from our class book collection. 

    Homework - will be set fortnightly from January 19th 2018 . It will alternate between Literacy and Numeracy focus. Homework will be due back in the following Friday. (1 week)

    iPads - all iPad agreements have been sent home. Please ensure you read the agreements, sign where relevant and return to school. iPads will be sent home as part of homework activities. These need to be returned to school on Mondays as they are used as part of News writing activities on Monday mornings.

    From January 2018 we welcome two new pupils to our class. Jordan and Macauley have just started here at Ysgol Pen Coch and are already settling in, making new friends and trying new activities. 

    We also welcome another member of staff to our team. Sara is our newly appointed TA1 who has also started in January. Congratulations Sara and welcome!

      Our Topic this term is :


      As part of our planning and activities this term we are taking a new look at the topic TALES AND RHYMES. As many of our pupils have become familiar with traditional tales and rhymes throughout the school; in Falcons Class we are looking at a particular author by the name of DR SEUSS.

      Dr Seuss is known for the wacky and fun stories that have gone on to become animations and movies. This term we will be looking at some of his best work to develop our understanding of descriptive and rhyming language as well as having fun whilst reading.

        • Autumn Term - 2017

          Our topic this term is 'Colour and Light'

          During Autumn Term A we will be focusing on developing our understanding of day and night. We will be looking at the differences between daytime and nighttime as well as sources of light.

          Our story for this half term is : 'Night Monkey, Day Monkey'


          During Autumn Term B we will look at colours and emotions. We will discuss how colours can signify different emotions/feeling.
