    Therapeutic Art

Allows our pupils to express themselves freely without fear of failure in the way that  a curriculum subject such as number eg.2 + 2 =  does not allow. It allows a child consumed by frustrations to find expression for those frustrations and to lose themselves in doing so. Kramer writes “art serves as a model of ego functioning. It becomes a sanctuary where new attitudes and feelings can be expressed and tried out , even before such changes can take place in daily life”( Kramer, 1971p.219)
