    After School Provision

Ysgol Pen Coch is committed to providing After School Provision for adults with learning disabilities. Ysgol Pen Coch has worked closely with adult services for a number of years and has developed the provision so that in 2014 we were delivering different therapies to adults on 3 evenings a week. We had a waiting list of adults with learning difficulties who wished to attend. In the August  of 2014 the head teacher wrote and submitted a business plan to the Morgan Foundation with the hope that the school could have a grant to extend the provision to 5 nights a week 4pm to 7pm and also on a Saturday. The bid was successful. However, Friends of Ysgol Pen Coch (our PTA) did not have enough members to oversee the grant. The head teacher met up with the well known  Crossroads charity and the bid was resubmitted to include their involvement. again the bid was successful. The grant is for 3 years and we hope that at the end of 3 years the ASP will sustain itself. We are very grateful to Crossroads and hope that this partnership becomes a template that  can be rolled out by them across other special schools in Wales.
