Uniform
We believe that school uniform looks smart and wears well, contributes to a sense of belonging, takes the wear and tear of school life rather than the children’s other clothes, promotes safety on community visits and makes it is easy for children to understand what to wear during term time. Ysgol Pen Coch school uniform consists of:
- maroon sweatshirt or cardigan, branded with the school logo
- yellow polo shirt
- grey, charcoal or black trousers
- grey, charcoal or black shorts
- grey, charcoal or black pinafore, plain or pleated
- grey, charcoal or black skirt, plain or pleated
- yellow or maroon gingham dress
- grey, charcoal, black or white socks or tights
- footwear of any colour, the style should be robust and promote safety
PE kit consists of trainers or “pumps” and appropriate shorts, t-shirts, joggers or tracksuit. Please provide a bag for these items while in school. Children who use the hydrotherapy pool or are taken swimming to another facility need swimming trunks or costume and a towel carried in a waterproof bag. All items of clothing should be marked with the child’s name.
School keeps a stock of good quality second hand uniform which is available free at school events throughout the year. If you need any items at other times please contact your child’s class teacher or the headteacher. The local authority may have grants available to help families purchase uniform.
School branded sweatshirts and cardigans can be bought from Monkhouse in Mold. Ysgol Pen Coch (URN-402231) - School (monkhouse.com). There is no requirement to buy other branded items, eg: coat, book bag etc. Non branded items may be bought from any suitable retailer.
We understand that children with sensory sensitivities may find wearing school uniform a challenge. If this is the case they are welcome to come to school in any suitable clothing that is safe, practical and decent.
